Your Role:
As Community Manager, you will lead community engagement efforts to strengthen tolerance, social cohesion, and solidarity. Your work will focus on creating and multiplying spaces where diverse individuals feel heard, valued, and connected. You'll manage day-to-day community activities, coordinate events in public and third spaces, and empower participants to build inclusive environments in their everyday lives.

The work will take place across three interconnected themes:
  • Encouraging spontaneous, meaningful conversations in public spaces by inviting passersby to participate in values-based exchanges
  • Hosting and curating structured community events such as workshops, group discussions and reflections on topics of belonging in Berlin that deepen the impact of personal encounters
  • Equipping participants with the skills to foster inclusive spaces in their everyday lives and amplify diverse voices

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Outreach, Engagement & Facilitation: Build and maintain relationships with community members, volunteers, and local partners. Create safe spaces for authentic dialogue and emotional sharing
  • Event Coordination: Organize pop-up conversations in public spaces, facilitate group discussions, and coordinate training sessions for community multipliers
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and support volunteers to encourage conversations that break societal “bubbles”
  • Communication & Storytelling: Capture and share personal stories from participants to amplify narratives of belonging. Manage project communication through social media, newsletters, and local outreach in collaboration with the SINGA team
  • Impact Monitoring: Collect feedback and track participation to assess impact and refine approaches
  • Create and manage SINGA community event calendar

Possible Event Topics and Formats

Entrepreneurship:
  • monthly breakfast for SINGA Alumni + newcomers to the SINGA network, who are interested in entrepreneurship
  • newcomer + local co-founder matchmaking events
  • founders support founders peer-to-peer coaching circles

Belonging:
  • story sharing and creation circles for newcomers and locals
  • New Wilkommenskultur / Welcome parties: supporting newcomers in Berlin to find answers to their most pressing questions, and to help each other through sharing knowledge
  • community healing circles
  • psychological resilience workshops
  • grief circles

Frequency: 2-3 events per month until end of November 2025

Who We’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience in community management, facilitation, or grassroots organizing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in event planning and volunteer coordination
  • Creative and proactive approach to fostering inclusive spaces
  • Commitment to SINGA’s values of inclusivity, respect, and solidarity
  • Availability to coordinate and attend events during evenings and weekends
  • Communicative in German and English; additional languages are a plus
  • Personal experience with migration is an asset
